Parent's Weekend!

This past weekend was parent's weekend here in Lexington!!! All the genies got to hang out with their families and eat dinners not served in dhall. Many parents were able to relive their glory days of college for the weekend, and they even attended classes with their children. For some parents, it was their first parent's weekend, but for Caroline Kingsbery's mother, it was her 8th straight parent's weekend! Shout out to Mrs. Kingsbery for fighting the cold and still coming to see her children after eight years!

Also this past week hurricane Sandy struck, and our hearts go out to anyone who was affected in any way. Washington and Lee was thankfully not hit hard, we even continued to have classes while schools around us canceled class, but many of our families are from areas badly affected.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

In the spirit of Halloween, this week for the blog we decided to take a quick poll asking our teammates what their all-time favorite childhood Halloween Costume was. See below for some of the spooky but mostly hilarious answers!

Looks most like their costume:
Adele- Snow White
Melissa, quoted saying, “I looked Great”- Bubbles the Powder Puff Girl
Looks least like their costume:
Catherine- Cleopatra
Eggcelent Ideas:
Becca - a deviled egg
Carly – the egg part of bacon egg and toast
Personal Fav:
Ash- Harry Potter (circa year one the book was published, she made her own costume)
Winner:
Katie Hagen- as a hippie (see picture below)
And last but not least we have Hutchinson, who was a bat five years in a row. I don’t even know what to say about that one….
On that note have a Happy Halloween & Be Safe!

Homecoming

This past weekend was homecoming at W&L. On Saturday morning, many young alumni, from a couple of different classes, showed up to participate in the annual alumni game at Alumni field. The alumni game permits former W&L women’s lacrosse players to enjoy the sport they love with former teammates and meet the new faces of General’s lacrosse. This event also provides current players with the opportunity to meet alumni and catch up with teammates that graduated. The game consisted of two 30-minute halves. Although it was a competitive game, the spirit of the game was more about having fun. What better way to end the fall season than an alumni game, and to share this experience with those who have come before us, and embody what it means so show General Pride!
